Due diligence

The Norwegian Transparency Act objectives is to promote respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, in connection with either productions of goods or provisions of services. The legislation concerns companies residing in Norway and that offer goods and services in or outside Norway.

Pursuant to § 3 of the Transparency Act, Ventor Energi Norge AS is defined as a “larger enterprise” and is therefore obliged to fulfil compliance with the legal requirements and reporting as stated in the Section 5 of the Norwegian Transparency Act.

Ventor Energi Norge AS is a hire-in off company which delivers work force to our business partners around the Norway. The main area of our job activities are industrial installations, ventilation systems, industrial insulation, steel structures and scaffolding systems.

Ventor Energi Norge AS  has been embedding responsibilities to comply with the legislation and used our established and comprehensive management system that is certified according to the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. We are focused on enterprise’s risks related to major accidents, security incidents and human rights breaches. The awareness in our organization is built around a selection of policies and procedures, which allow us both handle and prevent potential and actual adverse impact upon company values. The policies listed below allow us to root responsible business conduct into the company’s processes and achieve compliance with the new legislation when it comes to carry out the due diligence on human rights and decent working conditions:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility,
  • Code of Conduct,
  • Anti-alcohol, anti-drug and anti-corruption policies,
  • Whistleblowing policy.

Our company’s approach to human and employee’s rights management consist of key elements included in OECD Due Diligence Guidance. Ventor Energi Norges’s policies and standards are to prevent discrimination based on factors such as race, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic. Our recruitment, hiring and placement processes are fair and unbiased, as we comply with relevant labour laws and regulations, including minimum wage, working hours, overtime compensations and workplace safety standards. In our hiring process we always verify the individuals to ensure that they are not employed below the legal working age. We also provide adequate training for our employees in order to fulfil all HSE requirements.

In 2023 Ventor Energi Norge AS has been verified through the Achilles Global Energy Desktop Audit Programme with the audit score achieved at a level of 81% receiving GOLD Membership certificate. 

Achilles Global Energy Gold membership shows that we take health and safety very seriously, and we believe in the power of innovation and sustainable practices at every stage of our operations.  

We have signed the Collective Agreement and a large proportion of our workers are members of Trade Unions with the right to establish and engage in collective bargaining. Each decision related to labour issues is consulted and discussed with elected union representatives.

We make every effort to ensure that all of our business partners share our commitment to safety, business integrity, respect for human rights and compliance. We also strive to ensure that they act in accordance with provisions in force in the country of their activity, with respect to human rights and environment. We conduct due diligence to ensure our suppliers and clients adhere to human rights standards which includes monitoring and addressing any potential human rights abuses within organization we cooperate with.

The Integrated Quality Management System, which has been the basic system in Ventor Energi Norge AS from the beginning, allows us to meet the requirements of the Norwegian Transparency Act. Every year, an external certification body conducts comprehensive audits at our company, analysing all our processes, as well as our relations with customers and suppliers, compliance with the law, respect for human rights and equal pay. Thanks to this, we can be sure that the company operates in accordance with the standards of broadly defined as a responsible business conduct with commitment to ethical practises and human rights.

Throughout 2023 Ventor Energi Norge AS has been continuing building awareness and competence on human rights and business ethics among our employees, which allows our human rights program to mature with every year.
